A full size floodlit AGP and multi-use games area, together with natural turf pitches is to be completed by August 2018 in advance of the opening of a new 6 Form Entry secondary school. The AGP is due to be completed by Blakedown Sport and Play in June 2018, on time, under budget and with a proactive collaborative attitude.

The proposals include a large storm water swale which has been sized to store water from the pitches and the new the school. This will then discharge under an Ordinary Water Consent via a hydrobrake into an adjacent water course. A long jump pit, footpaths, tree and shrub planting are to be provided and wildlife habitat created as part of the scheme.

Topsoil generated form the pitches and the school is to be spread to the north and east, re-graded, positively drained, cultivated, and seeded to provide essential natural turf sports pitches for the school. The layout of the sports pitches have been approved by Sport England to include a 400m grass running track, and cricket oval for summer activities; and football and rugby pitches for winter and spring activities.
