sarum view, winchester

Inspired by the purity of a dew drop, a series of oval shapes lightly touch to create a series of interconnected spaces around the dwelling. The shapes have been emphasised by a series of timber posts set on a curve rising gradually to draw the eye around the garden.

An oval pool lies opposite the kitchen, which can be appreciated from two conservatories. A sunken lawn utilises the natural change in levels, which is enclosed by a curved wall. Lighting, with coloured filters, encourages the family to entertain during the summer evenings and provides an attractive nightscape when viewed from indoors during winter months.
