The Company was appointed in December 2002 to prepare a development framework study to support a planning application for 58 dwellings. The development sought to carefully integrate the dwellings within a parkland setting, taking care to retain numerous trees protected with Tree Preservation Orders.
The natural topography of the site was utilised and proximity of surrounding dwellings taken into consideration from the outset. A new link encourages access from adjacent development for pedestrians and cyclists. Generous open space provision and children’s play areas were accommodated within the site to serve the community and satisfy Winchester City Council’s open space requirements.
A detailed management plan was prepared to ensure the landscape character of the area is maintained for future generations.
