wyvern college campus

A landscape strategy was developed and implemented to redesign the main car park, access and circulation space at the front of the College. Access to the site, serving a number of community facilities and maintaining the health and safety of pupils, staff and visitors was critical throughout the course of construction. Drainage problems were also addressed as part of the infrastructure improvements.

Parking has been increased from 150 to 189 spaces, with cars, buses, and delivery access being rationalised to provide safe routes to the school for pedestrians. Tree and shrub planting has been incorporated to further define routes and spaces.

A simple palette of materials was used to enforce priorities, particularly at pedestrian crossing points. The main pedestrian route was defined by a line of blue low voltage ground lights, which lead visitors attending evening courses towards the main entrance.
