Located at the heart of the New Forest, planning permission was granted in 2001 for a prestigious office development on the edge of Lyndhurst. Prior to commencement an ecological assessment of the site revealed the presence of bat roosts and badgers, together with a pocket of ecologically diverse grassland. Tree Preservation Orders protected the majority of trees within and around the site, which required a sensitive approach to site planning and landscaping.
The building was set into the ground to reduce the visual impact from surrounding areas and was orientated to overlook the New Forest. The majority of existing trees were retained and supplemented to ensure the wooded character of the area would remain. Diamond sawn Portland stone slabs paved the way to the building, which continued into the foyer providing a high quality platform to the development.
