haskins garden centre
Haskins Garden Centre was completed in 1994 on the outskirts of Bournemouth, near Ferndown. An extensive area of parking was required to accommodate the anticipated number of visitors, which was designed to minimise the visual impact within the landscape.
Extensive boundary planting formed a green edge to the development, which allowed strategic glimpses to the main entrance. The grounds were designed to display plants available for sale within the centre, and to reflect the changing seasons.
An avenue of locally indigenous evergreen holm oak trees define the main spine through the car park which provides a strong landscape feature throughout the year.
